While planning their luxury wedding at Castello di Petrata, Dana and Alex knew they wanted their day to be magical, and magical it was. Welcomed by the gorgeous views of the castle in the heart of Umbria, they fell in love with the location immediately.
Getting ready
When choosing their wedding color palette, our couple opted for soft but vibrant colors. We chose pinks, yellows, and white tones, in order to complement the greens throughout the castle. Dana’s bridal bouquet had an arrangement of white and peachy garden roses and white peonies. We then added accents of yellow and small white daisies. The bridesmaid’s bouquets were made up of the same small daisies that were found in Dana’s arrangement.Â
Getting ready was a very intimate moment between Dana, her bridesmaids, and her family. She wrote her vows the morning of while getting ready in her suite. Her two bridesmaids looked stunning dressed in their matching elegant silver silk dresses. The bride opted for a beautiful a-lined, straight neckline, off-the-shoulder dress with beaded detailing paired with a silver diamond necklace, bracelet, and earrings. In order to compliment the dress, she chose a pair of Jimmy Choo sparkly heels. Dana wore her hair down with a soft curl accompanied by a beautiful veil with a long train.
The groom was dressed in a cream suit to match the wedding palette. His boutonniere had three white freesias with yellow accents, which the officiant also had to match.
Wedding Ceremony
The bride made her way from the castle through a stunning garden to the altar. Down the aisle, beautiful pink and yellow blooms similar to the bride’s bouquet were placed in gorgeous arrangements. The ceremony took place in front of a breathtaking view of the valley. Instead of a traditional arch, the couple had two taller asymmetrical floral arrangements that matched the rest of the flora. Our team added a few shades of pink with anthurium cheers and more greenery with palm leaves. Off to the right side, a beautiful harp was placed with spots for a cellist and violinist.
Dana’s mother accompanied her down the aisle to be met by a beaming smile from her groom, Alex. During the ceremony, the couple exchanged their vows and rings. Both glowing as they walked back down the aisle past their friends and family. After the ceremony, guests enjoyed a glass of wine or an Aperol spritz before the reception.
Elegant wedding reception
A long, curved wedding dinner table was set up in a patio of the castle by walls covered in greenery and vines. In order to feel connected to the guests, the newlyweds sat at a part of the curve where they could see everyone. A long white tablecloth spanned the entirety of the table with golden place settings and a menu on top of the plate. String lights above the table created a magical atmosphere.
For the centerpieces, we decided to alternate between flower arrangements and white candles. We created two types of flower arrangements with slightly different flowers in each. The smaller displays were in bronze vases while the larger displays were in elegant crystal vases. All of the flowers matched the color scheme from the ceremony adding pink carnations, yellow and dusty pink garden roses, and white daffodils. Each candle was surrounded by a glass cylinder with an elegant bronze base. The colors on the table and the setting complemented each other perfectly, creating a warm and intimate environment.
For their luxury wedding at Castello di Petrata, Dana and Alex were surrounded by their loved ones in one of the most beautiful wedding venues in Umbria. Everything from the smallest details to the floral decor worked in harmony to give a beautiful natural aesthetic.Â
